What is IN2ERT?

Our IN2ERT solution delivers safe, reliable and fast purging of equipment containing hydrocarbon residues or volatile organics. After conventional purging with nitrogen (N2), the residues left in clearing tanks, piping and heat exchangers continue to emit hydrogen sulfide (H2S) and volatiles, which means that asset owners have to suspend maintenance activities. Our IN2ERT service allows you to suppress toxins for uninterrupted maintenance work. With this process, hydrocarbons are absorbed while internal contaminants and residues are encapsulated to prevent further emission releases.

IN2ERT typically offers time and cost gains over conventional purging methods. A tailor-made mist of additives suppresses and encapsulates hydrogen sulfide (H2S) and VOCs such as benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and xylene (BTEX). These contaminants mix with the chemical-enriched nitrogen stream, rapidly purging tanks, piping and heat exchangers of H2S and VOCs. This renders the vessel inert and the waste more environmentally friendly.

Our staff will work with you to develop a customized nitrogen/chemical mixture to remove heavy hydrocarbons and residues from the surfaces of tanks, piping and heat exchangers. These contaminants are dissolved in the chemical cleaning agent, rapidly cleaning tanks, piping and heat exchangers of surface contamination.

In chemical production plants, catalytic reactors, guard beds and packed media require periodic decontamination and change-out to restore performance. IN2ERT incorporates a mist of active chemical reagents into nitrogen to rapidly remove heavy hydrocarbon deposits and trapped explosive and toxic gases in situ. Once decontaminated with this turnaround service, the spent catalyst or media can then be fully cooled and safely changed out. Our IN2ERT service dramatically improves decontamination time compared with industry alternatives and the use of nitrogen alone, saving you time and dramatically reducing chemical waste disposal effort.
