  • [ Water & Wastewater treatment Gases and Application Technologies for Water and Wastewater Treatment Pure Water Knowledge - For Today's Treatment Challenges Innovative Solutions for the Water Treatment Industry Water is essential for all life forms, yet access to clean, safe water is becoming increasingly difficult in many parts of the world. All water used by humans and industry must be treated to increasingly tight regulatory standards before it can be safely reused or returned to the natural environment.  For decades, Linde has been working with Water Treatment plant operators and stakeholders worldwide to design and commission applications for gases such as oxygen, carbon dioxide and ozone in water and wastewater treatment processes. Our innovative and pioneering solutions help operators to cost-effectively meet challenges such as pH control, substitution of acids, permanent and seasonal capacity increases. Linde’s gas-dissolution equipment maximizes dissolution efficiency and minimize power costs.  Extensive Offering - Reliable supply of industrial gases - Innovative, intelligent dosing systems (O2 & CO2) - Excellent service capabilities - Support during installation and maintenance - Best practices from 500+ installations worldwide Water & Wastewater Treatment Processes Linde can assist you to achieve reduced operating costs and improved reliability through use of oxygen dissolution equipment and other Linde gas applications for wastewater operations and treatment of potable water after desalination. Oxygen Instead of Air The use of pure oxygen (O2) is more effective than air in applications that require high capacity or high levels of dissolved oxygen.  Neutralization and Remineralization with CO2 When dissolved in water, carbon dioxide (CO2) forms carbonic acid.  Neutralization with CO2 is often less expensive than with other acids, and safer:  pH changes with CO2 are nearly linear at basic pH, which facilitate precise pH control. Under atmospheric pressure, the minimum pH level achieved with CO2 is around 6.5-7.0.   Even with variable raw water characteristics, the pH can thus be easily and precisely adjusted without the danger of acidification. The application of CO2 and lime is required as the final stage after desalination before water can be distributed in the municipal network to the consumer. Pure Oxygen for Ozone Generation Modern ozone applications typically see a lower lifecycle cost when oxygen is used as the feed gas instead of air.  O2-based ozone generation offers substantial power and capital savings compared to air. Services and Customer Support We support our customers at every stage of the solution lifecycle - from the initial assessment through application technology deployment to installation of a tailored gas supply system, always aligning our solutions with concrete operational challenges. ]

  • [ Acetylene Acetylene Production of acetylene gas consists of the reaction between calcium carbide and water Acetylene is a synthetic gas produced from the reaction between calcium carbide and water, and this at various sites near our customers. The process helps to preserve the environment, as acetylene gas is a by-product of the petrochemical industry. Safety information Working with Acetylene bottles What is acetylene? Acetylene, also known as ethyn, is a colorless, highly flammable gas. Because it is a colorless gas, it cannot be seen by humans, but because of its distinctive, garlicky, sweet smell, Actylene can still be perceived by humans. It is intoxicating, but not poisonous. Acetylene forms explosive compounds (acetylides) with silver and copper, among others; therefore, only metal alloys with up to 63% copper are allowed for equipment How is acetylene used? Acetylene is mainly used for oxyfuel welding and cutting. It is in fact the only gas with which gas welding can be done. In gas welding, two metal parts are united under the action of heat to one whole. The heat is obtained through the combustion of acetylene with oxygen. This creates a weld pool which, with or without the aid of an additive, forms a connection between the two metal parts. In oxyfuel cutting, the workpiece to be cut is brought to ignition temperature by means of a preheat flame, after which the centrally added cutting oxygen starts and maintains the oxidation process. The discharge velocity of the cutting oxygen jet blows the resulting slag out of the cutting joint. Oxy-fuel cutting is only possible for materials where the slag generated has a lower melting temperature than the material itself. Why are cylinders for acetylene different from those for other gases? The acetylene cylinder is an exception to other gas cylinders because it is completely filled with a porous mass, into which acetone has been sucked. This porous mass ensures a permanent distribution of the acetone throughout the contents. The reason for this is that at pressures above about 2 bar, without the presence of air or oxygen, acetylene can disintegrate into its elements, carbon and hydrogen, under explosive conditions at a sufficiently strong ignition source; this is called dissociation. When acetylene is dissolved in acetone and finely distributed throughout the porous mass, a safe filling pressure of 15 bar at 15°C can be maintained. Depending on the temperature, the gas pressure can vary by about 0.3 bar/°C. ]

  • [ Drying, Inerting, Blanketing & Purging Linde Canada Inc Drying, Inerting, Blanketing & Purging Protect Chemicals in Storage and Pipelines Inert gases effectively protect chemicals in storage and pipelines against oxygen and moisture, giving you improved safety, controllability and quality. Put Our Service Expertise to Work for You Our service experts have many decades of experience in the design and delivery of professional drying systems, inerting, purging and blanketing solutions, and pressure transfer installations. In some regions, these services are available as all-inclusive packages including maintenance and operation – leaving you free to focus on your core business. Drying Drying and Purging Our industrial service portfolio includes drying with nitrogen (N2) gas. This involves pumping N2 at high flow rates, pressures and temperatures through your process system to dry and purge it. The low dew point of N2 (-67.8°C or -90°F) makes this an efficient way to remove moisture from process systems, saving you time and money. We also provide N2 to safely purge potentially explosive hydrocarbon and air mixtures from vessels, gas lines, transfer lines and equipment. In some regions, this service is available as a complete problem-solving package including maintenance and operation by our staff. Our refinery turnaround portfolio includes a dry air all-inclusive service in certain geographies. This can be an attractive alternative to drying process systems as it delivers 100% oil-free air at dew points as low as -67.8°C (-90°F) using multi-bed desiccant dryers. Contact your local Linde representative to check what services are available in your area. Inerting and Blanketing Inerting for Safe Storage of Chemicals Atmospheric oxygen and moisture can compromise the safe storage of valuable chemicals, particularly in the case of highly volatile substances or products prone to oxidation. Inerting or blanketing can help overcome this problem by displacing air and moisture. Inerting involves injecting pure, dry nitrogen (N2) into a chemical vessel’s headspace to prevent oxidation or moisture contamination. The N2 gas forms a protective, safe layer of gas over the contents of the tank or reactor. Gases such as N2 and carbon dioxide (CO2) can also be used to create a protective blanket in storage tanks and vessels containing flammable liquids or solids to prevent fire or explosion. Blanketing maintains a safe and dependable inert layer of gas on top of the substance or in the empty spaces in a vessel. CO2 and N2 can also be used to maintain a dry inert atmosphere in industrially cleaned piping and vessels to avoid corrosion. As a leading supplier of the inert gases N2 and CO2, we also have the know-how to help you select and size the equipment you need for safe, effective inerting and blanketing. Purging Purging to Replace Vessel Volume with Inert Gas Purging is an inerting method commonly used in safety-critical process vessels such as reactors to eliminate oxygen and moisture when operations are started up or shut down. The three primary methods are displacement, dilution and vacuum purging. With displacement purging, an inert gas is injected into an open vessel to displace atmospheric air. Dilution purging involves injecting an inert gas to reduce the concentration of oxygen and moisture. In the case of vacuum purging, air is extracted with a vacuum pump and an inert gas is then fed into the evacuated vessel. Purging is also used to remove air from piping systems. In addition, purging can be used to dispel flammable or poisonous gases. Purging is typically an initial step used to prepare a vessel before maintaining an inert atmosphere in the headspace. Our experts can advise on the purging setup best suited to your operational challenges. Pressure Transfer Pressure Transfer of Liquids with Inert Gases Conventional methods used to transfer reactants from one vessel to another present a number of challenges. They often require special pump designs, compatible with the wide range of fluids which need to be transferred. In addition, even small failures of seals, especially on the suction side of the pump, can result in leakage of air or other ambient vapors into the fluid stream. In the case of high-quality synthesis reactions, such impurities can lead to product rejections. In addition, rotating equipment like pumps requires ongoing maintenance and can be prone to failure, which can be very disruptive to chemical production operations. Pressure transfer using pure dry inert gases like nitrogen offer a simpler and safer alternative to pumping. Pressure transfer does not require any rotating equipment and is therefore more reliable. The rate of liquid transfer can be regulated by controlling the gas flow rate and pressure. We have years of expertise in the proper specification of pressure transfer systems and components. • [ Laboratories Linde Canada Instrumentation and Calibration Gases for Laboratories Because Precision Matters in Everything We Do Single Source for All Your Gas-Related Needs As a leading supplier of specialty gases and specialty equipment, we can help make your laboratory more efficient by delivering precisely what you need, when and where you need it. We do this by combining high-purity specialty gases and gas mixtures from our HIQ®  range with precision-engineered gas supply equipment and expert, efficiency-aware services. We can even advise you on the latest analytical breakthroughs. It goes without saying that all of our pure gases and gas mixtures are certified to the highest standards of purity and quality. Regardless of your focus, you can turn to us for customized solutions to meet your individual analysis and instrumentation challenges. Why are Purity and Accuracy so Important? Research, testing and measurement laboratories are essential in countless industries, including automotive, power, petrochemicals, pharmaceuticals, environmental protection, space exploration and forensic testing. In fact, just about everything we eat, drink, use and explore has been analyzed at some point in its lifecycle. Many of these testing policies and methods are also evolving rapidly to comply with new regulatory requirements or respond to new needs from industry. Emissions legislation, for instance, is continuously tightening its requirements by both lowering permissible emission levels and by introducing new pollutants to be controlled. This - in turn - calls for much stricter measurement and analysis processes. The energy transition also calls for more advanced analytical capabilities so that new fuels that have been introduced or are in the pipeline can be tested for compliance with the specifications defined in the relevant standards. Furthermore, R&D activities in many sectors count on the reliability and accuracy of the analytical methods in use - instrumentation and calibration gases play an essential role in these methods. Regardless of what they are analyzing or testing, all laboratories have one thing in common. They are aiming for precision and often rely on high-purity process and calibration gas mixtures to achieve this. This is especially true as instrumentation and analysis needs become more sophisticated. Whether you run a dedicated in-house, contract or commercial lab, you are probably under growing pressure not only to stay abreast of the latest analytical methods, but also to manage costs through efficiency gains. The challenge lies in maximizing return on costly capital investments while aiming for the highest levels of precision and accuracy in all measurement and calibration workflows. In other words, you need to get it right first time - every time. Applications Instruments run and calibrated with specialty gas mixtures are used to: monitor air, water and ground pollution test engine exhausts control processes analyze chemical compositions analyze clinical samples and many more Traceability in Focus Many industries require traceability so customers will know they can rely on the performance of the instruments and materials supplied. With environmental emission monitoring or emission trading, authorities demand traceability to help ensure that public health requirements are met. Traceability is the relationship between a measured value and an established element of a national/international measurement system.  For traceability to exist, there must be an unbroken chain of  calibrations or comparisons  linking  the sample to relevant primary standards of the SI units of measurements. The measurement system by which values are transferred must be clearly understood and under control. Accreditation plays a key role here and is an important aspect in the production of specialty gases. Many of our HiQ® specialty gas  facilities have received certification as a producer under ISO 9001, with selected facilities independently accredited to programs such as ISO 17025 as a testing and/or calibrating laboratory and to ISO 17034 as a reference material producer. This provides the highest level of quality assurance and allows us to confidently state that the methods used to certify our accredited calibration gas mixtures are accurate, consistent, documented and validated. Why HiQ? With dedicated production facilities, accredited analytical laboratories, state-of-the-art logistics and selection procedures as well as purpose-designed and custom-engineered gas supply systems, we have the infrastructure to put the ‘special’ into specialty gases. Behind all this is the combined global expertise and knowledge base of our dedicated HiQ® team - experts in the field. We use software tools and networked information to help customers make informed choices quickly and unfailingly. Want more information? Call us at 1-800-225-8247 or send us a message! Contact us ]
  • [ Glass Linde Canada Industrial Gas Supply & Technology for the Glass Industry Meeting Today’s Challenges in Glass-Making Best in Glass - For More Efficient Production Processes The art of making glass is over 5,000 years old. At Linde, we have made great strides to improve this ancient craft in a way that helps the glass industry meet today’s goals of energy conservation, decarbonization, productivity, quality and emission abatement. With our full range of industrial gases, technologies and equipment, we can help improve glass quality and help you save money by burning less fuel more efficiently.  In the 1990s, Linde pioneered the successful conversion of the first large container glass furnace from air-fuel to oxy-fuel melting.    Oxy-fuel melting drastically reduces NOx emissions to help you meet strict regulatory requirements.  More recently, Linde has developed and demonstrated the OPTIMELT™ Thermochemical Regenerator (TCR) technology that can reduce fuel consumption by up to 30% versus air-fuel furnaces. Expertise to Help You Meet Your Cost and Energy Efficiency Goals Linde has been supporting customers in the glass industry for over 80 years.  Innovation is one of our core-values: we listen to our customers’ challenges and work with our Glass experts to find a solution.  We have the knowledge, skills and training to recommend the right gases, supply systems and technologies to reach your competitive goals. Our highly skilled team works hard to continuously develop and evaluate new technologies, so you stay at the cutting edge of the latest developments in glass melting. Our industrial gases and equipment offerings are also available to help lubricate glass moulds, polish and finish your glass products. Explore these options from an industry leader and obtain the perfect results.  Advantages of Oxy-Fuel Melting for Glass Production The use of Dilute Oxygen Combustion (DOC) technology is an excellent way to lower the emissions normally produced by glass furnaces. You can reduce your nitrogen oxide (NOx) and particulate emissions for a more environmentally friendly workplace. Converting a traditional air-fired furnace allows you to cut back on these emissions by as much as 90% in some cases. End-to-end Portfolio for Gas Furnaces We supply gases and application technologies for all oxy-fuel melting furnaces. With years of experience, a wide network of industrial gases and supply systems, and a full range of burners, we will recommend the options best suited to your specific furnace. We offer a diverse set of oxygen-based solutions to increase pull rate, extend furnace campaign, reduce NOx emissions of air-fuel furnaces of all types – sideport, endport and recuperative.  We also supply the inert gases needed for float furnaces producing soda lime glass – with supply solutions designed to meet the specific and more exacting requirements of this high-quality segment. ]

  • [ Oxygen Enrichment for Chemical Processes Linde Canada inc Oxygen Enrichment for Chemicals Boost the Efficiency of Your Chemicals Plant Explore how you can improve the performance of various chemical processes with O2e technologies complete with flow control skid, mixing technology and safety review from Linde. Enriching Process Air in Chemical Reactions Oxidation reactions are not just used in Claus plants and fluid catalytic crackers (FCCs) to intensify the process. They are at the heart of countless other chemical processes producing both chemical building blocks and final products. In most oxidation processes, molecular oxygen is the oxidizing agent of choice. The oxygen is usually supplied in the highly diluted form of process air. Approximately 79 percent of air (by volume) is inert and so its oxidation potential is limited. The extra inert “ballast” also has to be routed through the different process steps, which usually requires a significant amount of energy and impacts heat recovery. Our experience shows that oxygen enrichment of air at levels of up to 28 vol% can be safely implemented with minimal equipment changes and operational impact. Typical Use Cases and Safe Deployment O2e has the potential to intensify oxidation processes used in the manufacture of mass products as well as fine and specialty chemicals. It is often also ideal for oxidation processes typically used in the production of base chemicals such as terephthalic acid, ethylene dichloride, cyclohexanone and acrylonitrile. Depending on individual requirements, the industrial oxygen can replace part of the process air feed or it can be added to the existing supply. Our experts are on hand to conduct a thorough process safety review before you convert to O2e and to help you put the appropriate measures in place to safely manage the increased process temperatures caused by the addition of pure oxygen. For ease of deployment, we will also supply the oxygen flow control skid and mixing technology- for the safe, reliable addition of oxygen to a variety of systems. Benefits of O2e at a Glance: Reduced need to invest in new plant equipment to overcome bottlenecks Reduced operating costs, in particular energy costs for compression and waste gas treatment Increased productivity due to higher yields and throughput Better balance for trade with CO2 certificates Want more information? • [ Reactor Turnaround Services Linde Canada Inc Reactor Turnaround Services for Chemical Producers Inert Entry Support, Accelerated Cooling and LEL Freeing of Chemical Reactors Here at Linde, we understand that efficiency is key and downtime is not an option in today’s chemical complex, so we support fast, efficient reactor turnarounds with a comprehensive service portfolio. Reactor Turnaround Services for Enhanced Safety and Productivity Turnaround services and related maintenance play a key role in keeping your chemical production operations moving forward safely and efficiently. Without regular inspections and maintenance, small unattended issues have the potential to create dangerous and costly scenarios down the line. We provide industry-leading expertise in industrial services for your reactor turnaround projects. We coordinate our industrial nitrogen services with your team to execute your project safely and effectively, contributing to both your asset efficiency and availability. Our Services Include: Inert Entry Support We supply inert gases such as nitrogen (N2) to bring oxygen concentrations down to a safe level in environments with the potential for fire and explosions. This enables operators to enter inert confined spaces such as chemical reactors safely. LEL Freeing Catalytic reactors, guard beds and packed media require periodic decontamination and change-out to restore performance. Inert gases such as nitrogen can help to safely remove heavy hydrocarbon deposits and trapped explosive and toxic gases in situ. It does this by lowering the oxygen concentration to exclude ignition sources and raise the lower explosive limit (LEL) of potentially flammable substances. Once decontaminated, the spent catalyst or media can then be fully cooled and safely changed out. For dramatically improved decontamination time and reduced chemical waste disposal effort, we offer IN2ERT™ Reactor LEL Freeing . Accelerated Reactor Cooling The time required for reactor cooling can slow down turnaround times. Our accelerated reactor cooling service (NiCool™ or CATCOOL®) uses liquid nitrogen to rapidly cool down catalyst beds prior to change out. The controlled injection of liquid nitrogen into the recirculating process gas rapidly cools the recirculating stream to 15°C in a matter of hours instead of days, significantly shortening production downtime as well as accelerating inerting of the catalyst. If direct liquid nitrogen injection is not the preferred option, a once-through cooldown of the reactor with gaseous nitrogen can also be performed. Want more information? • [ NOx Removal Linde Canada Inc NOx Removal with LOTOX® Recovery done right Our LOTOX® low-temperature oxidation system injects ozone into flue gas streams where it reacts with NOx to create higher oxides that can be effectively removed from the flue gas. Effective Abatement and Control of NOx Emissions Our LOTOX® low-temperature oxidation technology delivers the highest NOx removal capabilities commercially available, achieving efficiency rates in excess of 95%. This process employs ozone to overcome the temperature-related challenges of typical nitrogen oxide (NOx) removal technologies. LOTOX® injects ozone into flue gas streams, where it reacts with NOx (mainly NO and NO2) and these species are converted to higher oxides of nitrogen such as N2O5. These oxides are not only very soluble but also reactive, so they can be easily removed along with other hazardous pollutants using conventional wet or dry scrubbers. Automatic Adjustment to Variations in NOx Load LOTOX® systems are demonstrably very responsive to large variations in flue gas composition. The control system automatically adjusts ozone dosing to variations in NOx load. Depending on regulatory requirements, the level of NOx abatement can be easily dialed in so oxygen and ozone usage is managed appropriately. LOTOX® NOx control is very effective for a range of combustion processes. It is an excellent option for flue gas streams that are problematic for other NOx control technologies. • [ Spent Acid Regeneration Linde Canada Inc Oxygen-Enhanced Combustion for SAR Plants Increasing Spent Acid Regeneration (SAR) Throughput in Chemical Plants The careful injection of oxygen into the combustion process can increase the productivity of SAR plants without increasing NOx emissions. Comprehensive Portfolio of Oxygen Technologies for SAR Plants SAR plants enable chemical producers to recover their spent acid and regenerate it to create high-purity sulfuric acid, which can be re-used. SAR regeneration can thus help to reduce emissions from chemical operations. We have developed a number of oxygen-based technologies that can help SAR plants increase the amount of spent sulfuric acid they can process. Increases of more than 30% have been achieved, depending on factors such as the design of downstream equipment, spent acid volumes, and fuel composition. Improvements in furnace performance, reduction of fuel consumption on a unit basis, and a decrease in nitrogen oxide (NOx) formation can also be achieved. The technologies we deliver to achieve these goals include oxygen for combustion air enrichment, oxygen burners, oxygen lances, and spent acid atomization solutions. For customers with acid streams that are difficult to break up, low-cost lancing and aeration technology installed in the acid furnace can help boost the SAR production capacity. Lancing works by using oxygen pressure to break up the acid stream. Want more information? Call us at 1-800-225-8247 or send us a message! Contact us ]

  • [ Safety documents Applications Find the right gases and equipment for your application Safety Instructions Reducing risk by being properly informed The potential hazards of dealing with gases can be held under control when products are handled correctly, their properties are understood and appropriate packaging is provided. Our safety instructions contain detailed information on a range of topics including oxygen deficiency, oxygen enrichment, handling acetylene, flammable gases, liquefied gases, toxic gases, gases under pressure, chlorine gas cylinders and oxygen pressure regulators. They also tell you how to store and transport gas cylinders safely. Transport instructions Transporting gases safely and in compliance with the relevant regulations The European Agreement Concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods (ADR) governs the international transportation of hazardous materials, including gas. The potential hazards of transporting gas can be held under control if products are handled correctly, their properties are understood and appropriate packaging is provided. Our transport instructions contain detailed information on a range of topics relating to the safe transport of gases. Linde offers a timely and safe delivery of products. If you like, all the way to the point of use in your facility. Material safety data sheets (MSDS) Helping you find the safety data sheets you need Our safety data sheets contain all the important facts and safety recommendations for handling gases. Safety data sheets are of central importance for your safety. They serve the user of gases and gas mixtures as a source of information and form the basis for instructions on appropriate protective measures. You can download our safety data sheets via the link below. Material safety data sheets (SDS) Safety glossary Guiding you through the maze of safety terms We have compiled a glossary of safety terms to help you understand more about safety issues when dealing with gases: Term Description Autoignition temperature The lowest temperature at which a material will ignite and sustain combustion in the absence of a spark or flame. Corrosive A substance that erodes and deteriorates materials upon contact (this may include skin tissue). Flame propagation The spread of a flame outward from the source of ignition through a combustible mixture. Flammable gas Any gas that will ignite easily and burn rapidly. Flammable limits Flammable limits define the minimum and maximum concentration of vapour/gas in air or oxygen needed to make the mixture combustible. They are usually expressed as a percentage of gas or vapour in air. A change in temperature or pressure may vary the flammable limits of a gas. Flash point The lowest temperature at which a liquid will vaporise to form an ignitable mixture in air. Frangible disk Also known as a "burst disk", this metal safety device is designed to burst and allow gas to escape within predetermined pressure limits. It is intended to prevent devices from rupturing and functions in much the same way as a safety relief valve, except that it cannot be resealed. Fusible plug A fusible plug is a safety valve which has a core of metal with a low melting point. This core melts once a predetermined temperature is reached. It cannot be resealed. Inert Gases that do not react with other materials at ordinary temperature and pressure are classified as inert. They do not represent a hazard unless they are released in a confined space where they can displace oxygen and create an asphyxiating atmosphere. Adequate ventilation and monitoring of oxygen content in confined spaces minimises the risk of asphyxiation. LEL Abbreviation for Lower Explosive Limit. The lowest percentage of a gas in air capable of forming a flammable mixture. Liquefied compressed gas A gas which, under charged pressure, is partially liquid at a temperature of 70oF. MSDS Abbreviation for Material Safety Data Sheets. These documents describe the hazards of each gas or material. They also provide information on the safe handling of the gas as well as emergency and first aid procedures. Oxidant Gases that do not burn but support combustion are classified as oxidants. Pressure or safety relief devices Devices designed to prevent cylinders under a normal charge from rupturing when they are inadvertently exposed to fire or intense heat. Pressure relief valve A pressure relief device which is designed to open and close at a predetermined pressure levels. Pyrophoric substance A substance that will ignite in air at or below room temperature without requiring additional heat, shock or friction. Threshold limit value - ceiling limit - (TLV-C) The maximum concentration of a substance in air that should never be exceeded, not even instantaneously. Threshold limit value - time weighted average - (TLV-TWA) The average concentration limit of a substance in the air to which a worker can be exposed day after day for a working lifetime, without adverse effect. It is based on an eight-hour workday or 40-hour workweek. Toxicity The ability of a chemical or gas to produce injury once it reaches a susceptible site in or on the body. ]

  • [ Pipeline Pigging Linde Canada Inc Pressurized Nitrogen for Chemical Plant Pipeline Pigging Operations Clean, Dry Nitrogen as the Ideal Tool for Pipeline Cleaning, Purging or Inspections Supporting pipeline maintenance and inspection work in chemical production plants with a steady supply of pressurized nitrogen for cleaning and purging. Extensive pipelines in the base and petrochemical industries often require maintenance and inspection work. Pressure-driven pigs are typically required to seal off the pipeline section in question. There are a variety of pig designs available, generally divided into two primary categories. Utility and smart pigs can be propelled using the contents of the pipe. Alternatively, the pig can use another fluid such as nitrogen gas. For cases when pigs are not propelled using the contents of the pipe, or when pigging is used to purge the contents of the pipeline, nitrogen offers an excellent option to propel the pig. We offer extensive expertise in both nitrogen supply solutions and gas pressure and flow control capabilities. Want more information? Call us at 1-800-225-8247 or send us a message! Contact us ]

If a cheque of the Customer is returned unpaid by the bank for any reason, a $25 service charge will be added to the Customer’s account. Remedies for Default – If the PSS Agreement expires or the Customer fails to remit any payment when due, fails to perform any obligations or breaches a covenant given to Linde, whether contained herein or otherwise, is subject to a proceeding in bankruptcy, receivership (including court appointment and privately appointed receivers), insolvency, reorganization, or winding up, becomes the subject of an execution or any process of any court or distress or analogous process, makes a general assignment for the benefit of the Customer’s creditors, makes or attempts to make any bulk sale without complying with the provisions of the relevant statute respecting such sales in the jurisdiction in which the Customer is situate, or ceases to carry on business as a going concern, then all amounts due to Linde shall become immediately due and payable without notice to the Customer and Linde may take immediate possession of the Cylinders without demand or other notice and without legal process and without limiting the generality of the foregoing, may collect all debts, accounts, monies and choses in action which may be due or owing to or owned by the Customer respecting the Cylinders or otherwise. For the purpose of removal of the Cylinders, Linde may enter the premises of the Customer and proceed to remove the Cylinders without notice, without judicial process and without being considered guilty of trespass or becoming liable or responsible for any injury to persons or damage to property, and the Customer hereby releases Linde from any claims incurred as a result of such removal. The Customer agrees to pay for all legal costs for recovery of debts, on a solicitor and client basis. Liability and Indemnity – The Customer agrees to release, indemnify and hold harmless Linde and its affiliates from and against any and all claims and demands of any nature whatsoever, for loss or damage to property or injury to persons, including death resulting therefrom, at any time caused directly or indirectly by, or through the presence or use of any goods, Products or Cylinders, except any such loss, or damage resulting from the negligence of Linde, its employees or agents. No claim of the Customer of any kind arising from the PSS Agreement whether or not based on negligence, breach of warranty or condition shall exceed the price paid for Product delivered in the twelve months preceding such claim. • [ Oxygen Enrichment for Claus Plants Linde Canada Inc Sulfur Recovery in Petrochemical or Natural Gas Plants Recovery done right Debottlenecking Claus plants in petrochemical or natural gas plants through smart, selective and safe investments in oxygen enrichment (O2e). Oxygen Enrichment for Claus Plants With the growing need to process sour crudes, petrochmical producers and natural gas processors face the two-fold challenge of removing increased sulfur content to meet strict environmental regulations and doing it cost-effectively. Our enhanced combustion technology can help them meet these challenges. It relies on oxygen enrichment to increase the capacity of sulfur recovery units (SRU) in Claus plants, eliminating the need for new, costly sulfur removal units. Claus plants normally provide up to 98% of the sulfur recovery capability in a petrochemical or natural gas processing operation. To recover the sulfur from sour gas, the Claus plant reaction furnace typically combusts the air and hydrogen sulfide (H2S) that result from sulfur processing. H2S is then partially oxidized and catalytically converted to produce high-purity molten sulfur. Capacity Gains with Low to High Levels of Enrichment In a Linde oxygen enrichment system, oxygen is supplied to the Claus plant through a sparger connected to the air line feeding into the reaction furnace. The oxygen can also be injected directly into the furnace through a lance or burner, or feed air can be completely replaced by oxygen supplied from a burner to the furnace. In some cases, complete feed air replacement can double Claus plant capacity. The resulting higher oxygen concentration increases the operating temperature of the furnace, which leads to steadier operation and greater BTEX (benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and xylenes) destruction. As a result, the Claus reaction furnace maximizes its ability to combust the oxygen and air mixture and the H2S produced during processing, working with system converters and condensers to recover the sulfur. Increased oxygen also means lower nitrogen volumes, which reduces gas volume in tail gas treatment. Comprehensive O2e Solution Further benefits of our sulfur recovery system include increased flexibility as oxygen is available on demand, improved conversion, low-cost installation and energy savings. We offer extensive safety training for proper operation, and use a computer program to help determine the effect of oxygen enrichment on your SRU. We work closely with you to fine-tune piping and sparger design, and to support installation and start-up. Benefits of Oxygen Enrichment in Claus Plants: Increased sulfur handling capacity and removal of bottlenecks Increased productivity without changing the pressure drop Greater flexibility to handle a wider operating envelope with the option to modify process intensification on demand More effective treatment of BTEX-containing feeds Less effort for tail gas purification (reduced nitrogen flow) Greater redundancy - especially with multi-train systems Want more information? • [ Water Treatment Linde Canada Inc Wastewater Treatment Solutions for Chemical Production Conserving Water through Advanced Recycling & Re-use Technologies Our tried-and-tested wastewater offerings have been successfully deployed in chemical plants around the world to address wastewater operational and environmental challenges. Raising Treatment Capacity while Lowering VOCs and Costs Whether your wastewater treatment system is an extensive aerated lagoon or a compact wastewater treatment process, our technology offerings can provide you with effective and reliable treatment with the added bonus of environmental gains in many instances. We develop and deliver customized systems to help chemical production plants meet their wastewater management goals. We work directly with our customers to provide beginning-to-end treatment methods, from needs assessment and treatment strategy to equipment design, installation and industrial gas supply. And we offer a wide range of applications that treat and re-use process water, all while maximizing treatment capacity, reducing volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions, improving safety and reducing costs. Wastewater Challenges in Chemical Production High-Strength Organic Loads Our high-purity oxygen systems enable wastewater facilities to treat double (or more) the organic load possible with a conventional air-based system at the same power input. With our efficient and proven oxygenation systems, mixing and oxygen transfer is decoupled. Providing enough oxygen to meet an increased organic load is as simple as turning up an oxygen supply valve to feed more oxygen to the wastewater process. Odors and VOC Emissions The best way to fight odors in the wastewater industry is simply by adding a little oxygen. Adding pure oxygen to your existing process can raise the level of dissolved oxygen enough to reduce or eliminate odors without further action. Even better, our systems help you manage peak demand and increase capacity while reducing VOC emissions. Our SOLVOX® mobile oxygen system is a flexible way to aerate wastewater. It can be used to bridge seasonal and production peaks or as a backup solution during maintenance. Its modular concept allows for flexible capacity management and it can be easily stored and installed again when needed. A single unit can oxygenate and mix approximately 200 -400 m3 of wastewater aeration basin volume. Spent Caustic Treatment Our high-purity oxygen aeration systems can enable chemical plant wastewater treatment facilities to dispose of spent caustic in the biological process. This eliminates or significantly reduces the need for complex high-temperature and pressure oxidation alternatives that are currently used today. Space Constraints While most conventional aeration systems can handle organic loads that are equivalent to about 50-100 grams O2 per m3/hr, our oxygenation systems will allow facilities to effectively treat up to 400 grams O2 per m3/hr - on the same footprint. pH Reduction with CO2 As one of the world’s largest suppliers of carbon dioxide (CO2), we have extensive experience in the benefits of CO2 as a tool to effectively neutralize alkali wastewaters from refining operations. Replacing mineral acids with our SOLVOCARB® CO2 solution for pH control is a smart choice. By no longer buying or storing potentially hazardous chemicals or mineral acids, you are making your site safer while also reducing costs. CO2 does not require spill protection or corrosion-resistant piping, for instance. pH control with CO2 can also help you manage peak demand and capacity increases, increase plant flexibility, and lessen your impact on the environment. In addition, CO2 eliminates the possibility of over-treatment because the self-buffering properties of CO2 virtually exclude over-acidification of the wastewater. This reduces or eliminates the need for treatment of the off-gases. Disinfection Ozone is a strong, reliable disinfectant ideally suited to the treatment of industrial wastewater. The high oxidizing potential of ozone makes it perfect when chemical residue is unacceptable. Together with technology providers, Linde can design suitable ozone-based treatment schemes and systems. Undesirable microbial growth in parts of your wastewater treatment plant can be controlled using ozone. A Linde representative would be glad to recommend the best disinfection option for your operations. Want more information? Call us at 1-800-225-8247 or send us a message! Contact us ]
